Day spa & skin studio
The hour you keepentirely for yourself.
Facials, gua sha and scalp work in a quiet room above the river — one guest at a time, sixty minutes that end slower than they started.
- 60-minute facials
- Gua sha sculpting
- Scalp & hair rituals
Since 2014
One room, and no plan to add a second.
We take a single guest at a time because the alternative is a room with two clocks in it. Everything below is a consequence of that one decision.
Years on Water Street
Above the same bookshop since the first table went in.
Rituals a year
Booked by hand, one to a slot, never double-stacked.
Guest rating
Across 610 reviews, most of them about the quiet.
Three to start with
The rituals most people book first.
Ten live on the menu. These three are where nearly everyone begins, and all of them end in the quiet room.
60 min · $145
The Sixty
Double cleanse, enzyme, massage, mask — paced to the breath rather than the hour.
45 min · $120
Gua sha sculpt
Stone work along the fascia, finished with a cold roller and a long jaw release.
50 min · $110
Scalp & hair ritual
Oil, pressure points, a steam wrap, then a comb-through and rinse at the basin.
The room
Third floor, one window, no music you can name.
The studio is one treatment room and one waiting chair, above a bookshop on Water Street. Nothing is piped in, nothing is upsold on the way out, and the door stays shut from the moment you lie down until the steam cycle ends.
- One guest in the studio at a time — never two
- The same two hands every visit, by request
- Oils blended at the bench, patch-tested first
How a visit goes
Four things happen, always in this order.
Arrive
Come ten minutes early. Tea, a robe, and the chair by the window while the room is turned over.
Consult
Five minutes under the lamp and some honest questions about the week you have had.
The ritual
Sixty to ninety minutes, depending on what you booked. The door stays shut throughout.
Steam & sound
Every ritual ends the same way — thirty minutes in the quiet room, on your own time.
In their words
What guests say when nobody sold them anything.
I have had facials in three cities. This is the only one where nobody tried to sell me a serum on the way out.
The gua sha work changed my jaw. I did not know that was a thing that could happen in forty-five minutes.
It is one room and one person and it is never rushed. I book six weeks out and I do not mind at all.
Reservations
The next quiet hour is already on the book.
Pick the ritual, tell us the week that works, and we will hold the room. The list runs about six weeks deep, and it moves.
